You're applying to Ground State Studio. Our current focus is Global Forces, a tactical gaming and modding project starting with Arma 4, with plans to expand into other tactical games.

We're in the early stages, building the team, workflows and production standards behind Global Forces. Our long-term ambition is to grow Ground State Studio into an independent game development studio, creating original games and experiences of our own.

We value attention to detail, clear communication and realistic commitments. You'll work on focused tasks, receive feedback and help develop factions, equipment and environments alongside the team.

How collaboration starts.

Team membership is a path for regular team applicants. External collaborators help as needed, without joining the team or the studio's Discord server.

    Share your discipline, work examples, availability and preferred type of collaboration.

  2. Portfolio review

    We look at your work, skills and experience to understand where you could contribute.

  3. Conversation

    A short voice call and studio introduction. We discuss expectations, current work and how we collaborate.

  4. Starter task

    A small task with a clear brief, followed by a review of the work, communication and response to feedback.

  5. Trial collaboration

    Work together on real tasks, with access to the tools and guidance needed for your role.

  6. Next-step decision

    Review the collaboration together and discuss the right next step. Joining the team is not automatic.

Build with the team over time.

You would work regularly with Ground State Studio, with an agreed area of responsibility. A starter task and trial come before a decision about joining the regular team.

  • Agree realistic availability and keep the team informed about progress or blockers.
  • Work on assigned tasks, take part in reviews and respond to feedback.

Contribute without joining the team.

You help Ground State Studio when a specific need comes up. You stay independent: you do not join our team or the studio's Discord server.

What this involves

  • Agree the scope, delivery expectations, timeline and contact method before each task.
  • Submit the agreed work for review and feedback, without an ongoing team commitment.

How we work together.

Compensation is agreed individually before each task. There is no payment at the outset: agreed amounts are deferred until the studio can afford to pay. No payment date is guaranteed.
